About this quest

The Old City of Jerusalem carries thousands of years of history and is shrouded in the spiritual energy of many religions. In this city game, you play as a lost alien who crashed with his spaceship in Jerusalem and needs to find this energy to recharge his spaceship's battery.

You'll visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the holiest place for Christianity, the Western Wall, the last standing remains of the holy temple which is the holiest place for Judaism, and you'll see at distance the Al Aqsa Mosque, the third most important mosque in the Muslim world.

You'll discover fascinating stories about Jerusalem throughout different historical periods; the Greeks, the Romans, the Crusaders, the Mamluks, the Turks, and the British.

The quest will take place within the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem.

What to Expect

This self-guided walking tour in Jerusalem combines exploration, storytelling, and puzzle-solving into one unique experience. As you navigate through the city, you will discover 11 carefully selected locations, each revealing a piece of the story.

The entire quest takes approximately 4020 minutes to complete and covers 2.3km on foot. You will move at your own pace, with the freedom to pause whenever you want to take photos, grab a coffee, or simply soak in the atmosphere.

Each location features a challenge or puzzle that unlocks the next chapter of your story. These challenges are designed to be fun and engaging while teaching you about the history, culture, and hidden gems of Jerusalem.

No tour guide needed – your smartphone becomes your guide. The Questo app provides directions, shares stories, and presents challenges along the way.

Highlights

  • You play as a lost alien who crashed with his spaceship in Jerusalem. In order to return home you need to charge energy into the battery of your spaceship.

  • According to your book's instructions, in the Old City of Jerusalem there are hidden ancient objects and symbols that carry within them the energy required to restart the spacecraft and get back to your distant planet safely.

The mission: Your story in Jerusalem

You open your two sets of eyes and look out the spaceship’s broken window. Your spaceship definitely crashed and you are… on earth?!

You look at the main screen, all the alert signs are on, the battery level is too low to start the engine and you are located in the city of Jerusalem. There's a drawer full of books and manuals around. One book catches your attention.

“HOW TO OBTAIN ENERGY ON A DISTANT PLANET?”
You take your energy battery in two hands, and with the third hand hold your book and go out to find some energy.
