Johan Strick kocht in 1628 voor 8000 gulden de heerlijkheid Linschoten  van het Kapittel van Oudmunster; het huidige huis te Linschoten. 

Vanaf toen noemde hij zich Strick van Linschoten. In die tijd was Linschoten een bruisend dorp met veel winkels en bedrijven. Het gerucht gaat dat Johan eigenaar was van de grootste parel ter wereld, maar dat deze verloren gegaan is. Zou de parel zijn gestolen  of gewoon kwijtgeraakt? Je bent ontboden door de Schout van Linschoten. Vandaag is een mooie dag om de parel te zoeken.....
