The experience

About this quest

Your father vanished over a decade ago, leaving behind only a cryptic letter tucked into a worn book.

Now, you walk the same streets he once did, chasing whispers of diamonds, legends, and a woman known only as Lady H. Through Amsterdam’s vibrant heart—past Rembrandt’s shadows, hidden courtyards, and the winding alleys of the Red-Light District—you’ll follow real-world clues in search of a treasure long believed to be lost.

This is more than a walk. It’s a story you live through puzzles, discovery, and shared adventure. Whether with friends or family, this quest invites you to connect, explore, and create memories in one of the world’s most enchanting cities.

Is this for you?

Who it's for

Friends, couples and families with older children can see the Red Light District and old town by daylight, following a missing father's letter past nine stops from the Oude Kerk to the Rembrandt house and Montelbaanstoren. Expect about an hour, 2.5 km and medium puzzles full of hidden history. Anyone after a live guide or an evening nightlife tour of the district should choose something else.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the quest start, and do we need to book a time?
The quest starts at Pancakes Amsterdam, then leads you through the old centre to stops such as Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder, the Oude Kerk and De Waag, finishing at the House of the ship. There is no set time slot, so you can begin whenever suits you.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Plan on about an hour to cover roughly 2.5 km and nine stops, including the Dutch East India Company headquarters, the Rembrandt house, Montelbaanstoren and the Weeping tower. You can pause at any point, stop for a break, and continue later from where you left off.
Is this Red Light District quest suitable for children?
It is played by day and built around a treasure hunt story, but the route does pass through the Red-Light District. The puzzles are rated medium difficulty, so it suits children of around 10 and up playing with adults better than younger kids.
Can we play as a group on one ticket?
Yes. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the quest. There is no guide or other group to join, so you solve the clues together on your phones and move through the old town at your own pace.
Can we do the quest by bike instead of walking?
Yes, the quest can be played while riding a bicycle, which makes the 2.5 km route between the old church, the canals and the old harbour towers quicker. You can still stop at each place to hear its story and solve the puzzle in front of you.
What’s the mystery I’ll be solving?

You find an old letter from your father who vanished at sea decades ago. He spoke of three magical diamonds, a shadowy Lady H, and hid clues in his favorite Amsterdam haunts. Now you follow his trail through canals, courtyards, and Rembrandt’s old paths to find out what really happened.

Where does the journey take me around Amsterdam?

You’ll start at Pancakes Amsterdam on Prins Hendrikkade, stroll past places like the Rembrandt House, De Waag, Oude Kerk, and finally end at Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder. Along 2.5 km and ~3,290 steps you explore both iconic and hidden corners.

Could this be a romantic vibe for couples?

Yes! Walking through candlelit canals, whispering clues under evening skies, and sharing discoveries in hidden courtyards—this quest mixes adventure + Amsterdam’s charm, super memorable for two.

De Wallen context

A medieval harbor district behind the sailor story

De Wallen is one of Amsterdam’s oldest districts, shaped by its position near the medieval harbor, Oude Kerk and canals. Its modern identity includes regulated sex work, nightlife, homes and historic buildings rather than one single attraction. This quest uses that layered neighborhood for a fictional sailor’s treasure hunt; the lost fortune and characters are invented. Playable languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Dutch.
