The experience

About this quest

The year is 1934. Berlin is one year into Nazi rule, and a Jewish family needs your help.

As the American-born child of German immigrants, you've been sent to find Alfred Blum, a young man in hiding, and get him out of the country. To do it, you'll need to navigate a chain of underground contacts through the city's most historic districts: the old Jewish clothing quarter at Hausvogteiplatz, the Friedrichswerdersche Kirche, Humboldt University, Museum Island, and the Oranienburger Strasse.

Solve coded puzzles, follow hidden clues, and piece together a network of strangers who are each risking something to help one person escape. This is Berlin's most historically grounded walking game, part self-guided city tour, part outdoor escape room, entirely immersive.

The city is watching. Move carefully.

Is this for you?

Who it's for

History-minded visitors drawn to Jewish life and persecution under the Nazis get a story instead of a lecture: a 1934 mission to smuggle a young man out of Berlin, past Museum Island and Humboldt University, in under an hour. It suits couples and friends who like puzzles. Anyone wanting a live guide to quiz on the Third Reich, or a gentler story for small children, should pick another walk.
