About this quest

Play a city game that will take you back to a Málaga of the XIX century, at a time when society was highly hierarchic and relationships between the locals and the gipsy communities were completely stranded.

Wander on the sunny streets as you search for your lost lover: a "gitana" princess who stole your heart away.

This story of forbidden love will take you through the most emblematic and hidden corners of the city, where you will find out all about the many cultures that flourished here.

What to Expect

This self-guided walking tour in Malaga combines exploration, storytelling, and puzzle-solving into one unique experience. As you navigate through the city, you will discover 12 carefully selected locations, each revealing a piece of the story.

The entire quest takes approximately 9660 minutes to complete and covers 3.5km on foot. You will move at your own pace, with the freedom to pause whenever you want to take photos, grab a coffee, or simply soak in the atmosphere.

Each location features a challenge or puzzle that unlocks the next chapter of your story. These challenges are designed to be fun and engaging while teaching you about the history, culture, and hidden gems of Malaga.

No tour guide needed – your smartphone becomes your guide. The Questo app provides directions, shares stories, and presents challenges along the way.

The mission: Your story in Malaga

Step in the shoes of Juan – a respected member of the Andalusian society, hopelessly in love with the beautiful gitana Rosalia.

You wake up in Malaga, in a state of confusion: your clothes stained with blood; your memory a total blur.

The last thing you remember is you and Rosalia, trying to escape together last night. And then…what happened? Why are you here? And more importantly, where is Rosalia?

You have to find her, quick! Maybe she’d been kidnapped or worse…killed!

Frequently asked questions

Want a romantic walk with a twist?

Play Highlights of Málaga around sunset. Chase clues through the oldest tavern, stand by the Alcazaba at golden hour, and follow the story of Juan and Rosalia—it’s love, mystery, and history mixed together.

Good for families and curious kids too?

Yes! Kids enjoy pretending to find Rosalia, looking for the Cenachero sculpture, or spotting hidden alleys. The path is walkable, breaks are easy to take, and the mix of drama + tradition keeps it fun.

Is this quest worth doing for a group hangout?

Totally. Split into pairs or small teams, compare clues, laugh over guesses, and explore together. Highlights of Málaga has enough puzzles and historic spots to keep a gang entertained for ~2-3 hours.

Don’t speak Spanish well—will I still get it?

Yes. The quest is in English, clues are visual, and many stops (Alcazaba, Mercado Central) you can see without needing to translate. The story does the work for you.

Best time of day to play this quest?

Morning is great to avoid heat, but late afternoon or early evening gives the task some beautiful light. The shadows get long, the streets calm, and Málaga’s colors glow—it adds magic to the hunt.
