L’expérience
À propos de cette aventure
You are Christopher Columbus, destined for discovery—but the sea has other plans.
After a sudden shipwreck, you and your friend Arthur find yourselves stranded in an unfamiliar place. Lost without a map, compass, or crew, you awaken on the banks of what seems like a strange new world… but it’s actually Hamburg, transformed into a land of mystery and adventure.
To rejoin your ship before it sails, you must explore the city like a true adventurer. Solve real-world puzzles, follow hidden clues, and navigate through historic streets and surprising corners. Along the way, you'll uncover pieces of the past while creating memories in the present. This walking quest is perfect for friends or families seeking fun, challenge, and connection. Will you find your way back—or become part of Hamburg’s legend?
Est-ce pour vous ?
Pour qui c'est
Families with school-age children and groups of friends can play Columbus, shipwrecked in Hamburg, solving real-world puzzles from Jungfernstieg past the Town Hall, St. Michael's Church and the Cap San Diego to the Elbphilharmonie. It is a playful outdoor story game rather than a history lecture. With about three hours and 4.4 km on foot, it is a poor fit for toddlers or anyone hoping for a live guide to answer questions.

Quelques réponses avant de partir
Questions fréquemment posées
What is the Columbus quest in Hamburg?
It is a self-guided story game on your phone. You play Christopher Columbus, stranded in Hamburg with your friend Arthur after a shipwreck, and you must cross the city to rejoin your ship. The app leads you from place to place, tells each place's story and sets puzzles in what is around you.
Where does the route from Jungfernstieg go, and where does it finish?
It starts at Jungfernstieg and runs through the Passagenviertel, the Town Hall, St. Nicholas and St. Michael's churches, Portuguese street, Blockbräu, the Cap San Diego and Niederbaumbrücke before finishing at the Elbphilharmonie. It does not return to the start.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Most players take about three hours, walking and puzzles included, over roughly 4.4 km. You can pause the game and continue later, so there is time for a break along the way. Bring a charged phone or a power bank, and water.
Is it suitable for children, and can we play as a group?
Yes, it is family friendly and suits school-age children who enjoy solving clues and walking a few hours. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so a family or group of friends can share one phone and solve the puzzles as a team.
Do we need to book a start time?
No. There is no group to join and no guide to meet, so you can start whenever you like at Jungfernstieg. The game is played outdoors, so plan around the weather and bring a hat, sunscreen and water on warm days.
