Forget every ghost story you've heard about this city. This Halloween, ten restless spirits are loose on its streets. 👻 No history book knows their names. No tour guide has heard of them. Most are just lost souls. One is lying to you. 💀
A hooded Oracle needs a ghost hunter. Every spirit is stuck on unfinished business: solve its mystery, catch it, and it gives up a clue. Follow the trail across town, crack ciphers and riddles (some only the street itself can answer), then name the Evil One and destroy it before it finds you. 🕷️

Starting at the Sydney Cove Map, this 1.7 km trail of ten restless spirits runs past Campbells Cove, Foundation Park and the Jack Mundey Sculpture, with ciphers and riddles you solve from the street itself. Friends, couples, families with older kids and escape-room fans who would rather play than listen get around 90 minutes of hunting. Anyone after true local ghost lore from a live guide should look elsewhere.

Can you go ghost hunting in Sydney on your own?
Yes. This is a self-guided ghost hunt played on your phone. A hooded Oracle sends you after ten restless spirits. Solve each one's mystery to catch it and earn a clue, then name the Evil One. The spirits are invented for the game, not taken from history books.
Can we do a ghost hunt tonight without booking a time?
Yes. There is no fixed start time and no guide to meet, so you begin whenever suits you. Open the app at the starting point and go. If you need a break, you can pause and continue the hunt later.
Where does the ghost hunt start and where does it go?
It starts at the Sydney Cove Map. The route covers about 1.7 km, with stops including Campbells Cove, Foundation Park, the First Impressions Sculpture, the Jack Mundey Sculpture, the Dorothea Mackellar Writers Walk Plaque and The Beacon.
Is it suitable for kids?
It suits older kids and teens best. The puzzles are ciphers and riddles, some answered only by looking closely at the street, and the Halloween story ends with an evil spirit to destroy. Younger children may find it scary or need a lot of help. Plan for around 90 minutes.
Can our group play together on one ticket?
Yes, one ticket covers your whole group, so friends or family can hunt the spirits side by side and work through the riddles together. The game is played outdoors between stops, so bring a jacket or umbrella if the weather turns.
