What is the city game in Pori?
It is a self-guided walk played on your phone. The app leads you through the centre of Pori from place to place, tells the story of each stop and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you, building up to the mystery of the bear. No guide and no group to join.
Where does the game start and finish?
It starts at Pori gate and finishes at Cafe Jazz, so it does not end where it began. Along the way you pass the Drummer boy, the Building heritage museum, Kauppahalli, the Marketplace, the Church, the bear, the Art museum and the Bridge, among other stops.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Most players take a little over two hours, walking and puzzles included. The route covers about 3.8 km through the city centre. You can pause the game at any point and continue later, so there is time for a coffee or a look around on the way.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on the route. No attraction tickets are needed for any of the stops, so you can follow the walk and solve the puzzles without paying to enter museums or other sites.
Do we need to book a time, and are there days to avoid?
There is no time to book; start whenever you like. Note that the Market Hall is closed on Sundays, playing at night is not recommended, and some checkpoints may have temporary construction work. A sunny or cloudy day suits the walk well.
