Wander through Bristol’s historic streets, solve real-world puzzles, and uncover the clues left behind by long-dead buccaneers. Each step brings you closer to the secret sign-up location... or deeper into the city’s dark past. 

This adventure is perfect for families and friends ready to embrace mystery, challenge, and fun. Will you earn your place among the legends—or be left behind in the shadows?

Yes. This quest follows Bristol's pirate history on your phone, with no guide and no group to join. It begins at the Old Docks, the birthplace of Blackbeard, and passes Redcliffe Caves, the Hole in the Wall pub and the Pirate Hunter before finishing at the Llandoger Trow. You can start any time.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at the Old Docks, the birthplace of Blackbeard, and finishes at the Llandoger Trow. It is not a loop. Along the way you visit St Mary Redcliffe Church, Queen Square, the Hippodrome, the Hatchet Inn, Christmas Steps and St Nicholas Market.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Most players take about two hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers 3.3 km through Bristol's historic streets. You can pause the quest and continue later if you want a break or a drink at one of the old pubs on the way.
Is it suitable for children?
