The city feels older tonight. Heavier. Like something has been waiting a very long time for someone to come asking.
You've been recruited by the Bureau of Otherworldly Observation, and Agent Howl is handing you your first case: a district full of the dead, and a file nobody has ever managed to close.
Thirteen stops. Thirteen things this city would rather you didn't look at too closely. Some of them are waiting for you.
The dead here were real people, and they remember what the plaques leave out. Ask the right questions and they'll tell you. Ask the wrong ones and you'll find out why the file is still open.
Keep your phone torch handy. You'll want it. 🕯️

Couples, friends and small groups of adults who like ghost stories and dark history can do a ghost walk on their own schedule: 13 stops from the Dame Roma Mitchell statue past the old arcades to Her Majesty's Theatre, with a puzzle at each, in about 90 minutes. If you want a live guide to question, or have children unsettled by tales of real dead people, pick another walk.

Where does the ghost walk start and finish?
It starts at the Dame Roma Mitchell Statue and finishes at Her Majesty's Theatre, so it does not return to the start. In between you pass the State Library, Regent Arcade, Gay's Arcade, Adelaide Arcade, the Town Hall, the Supreme Court and Adelaide Central Market.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take around 90 minutes, walking and puzzles included, over about 2.8 km through central Adelaide. There are 13 stops, and you can pause the game and carry on later if you want a break for food or a drink.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so couples, friends or a small party of adults can share one phone and work through the story and puzzles at each stop as a team.
Do we need to book a start time?
No. Unlike a guided ghost walk with a set departure, you start whenever you like, with no group to join and no guide to meet. The app leads you from place to place, tells each story and sets the puzzles, so an evening start works fine.
