Where does the Greenwich Village music walk start and finish?
It starts at The White Horse Tavern, the bar where Dylan Thomas had his last drink. The route is a loop through Greenwich Village with stops such as Washington Square Park and Cafe Wha?, and it ends back at the same tavern.
How long does the walk take and how far is it?
Plan on about an hour to cover roughly 2.4 km at an easy pace. The quest is best played during the day, and you can pause at any point and continue later, so a coffee or a longer look at a stop will not cost you progress.
Is this a Greenwich Village ghost tour?
No. It is a walk about the artists who lived and performed in the Village. Edgar Allan Poe's house is on the route, but the focus is folk clubs, jazz venues and poets' haunts, including where Barbra Streisand first performed and where Bob Dylan spent his earliest nights in the city.
