Is this a guided tour of Amsterdam Noord?
There is no live guide. The app on your phone leads you from stop to stop and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. It is a scavenger hunt without stories about the places, so you can start whenever you like and set your own pace.
Does the walk go through the Van der Pek neighbourhood?
Yes. After the Mosveld market square the route takes you along Van der Pek street and on to Van der Pek square, before heading back towards the river and the Eye filmmuseum.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
It starts and ends at the Buiksloterweg ferry terminal, so it is easy to reach by ferry across the IJ. The loop is about 2.1 km and takes around 25 minutes of walking. Allow up to an hour if you stop at a cafe or the market.
Is it good for kids, and can we play as a group?
It is tagged family friendly, and the short, flat-paced loop suits children who can walk about 2 km and enjoy looking for clues. One ticket covers your whole group up to the stated number of devices, and you can pause and continue later.
Do we need to book a time or buy entry tickets?
No time slot is needed and no attraction tickets are required. The route is open 24/7, but it is better in daylight. Go on a Wednesday, Friday or Saturday if you want to catch the street market at Mosveld.
