Algumas respostas antes de partir
Perguntas frequentes
Can we do this today in Cambridge without booking a time?
Yes. There is no set start time and no guide to meet, so you can begin whenever it suits you. Go to The Guildhall Door, start the game on your phone, and the app leads you from stop to stop at your own pace, beginning with Market Square.
How long does the quest take and how far is the walk?
Plan on about 2.5 to 3 hours for the 3.1 km route, including time for the stories and puzzles. It is a loop that starts and finishes at The Guildhall Door, and you can pause at any point, for example at The Eagle pub, then carry on later.
Can we play as a group on one ticket?
Yes, one ticket covers your whole group, and you play together on your phones. The quest is tagged as fun to do as a couple, so it works especially well for two people solving the puzzles side by side as they walk.
Is it suitable for children?
It is not designed as a family quest. It is aimed at adults and couples, with a route of nearly three hours and a focus on the science history of Cambridge. Teenagers who enjoy puzzles may like it, but younger children could find it too long.
Is it all outdoors, and what if it rains?
The route is outdoors, through streets, alleyways, college gates and archways, so dress for the weather. Because you can pause and continue later, you can stop if the rain gets heavy and pick up from the same point when it clears.
What makes this alumni-themed game a cooler way to discover Cambridge?
Instead of listing facts, this game turns you into an “Uncanny Zoologist” hunting magical creatures while visiting real spots tied to big names—like the DNA pioneer, the inventor of the computer, etc. You solve puzzles, walk alleyways, see colleges, and discover hidden history—all wrapped in fun.
Is this good for a romantic outing?
For sure. Imagine wandering Cambridge’s quaint lanes at dusk, sharing laughs over tricky clues, pausing at an old college gate, then finishing in Market Square under street lamps. It’s romantic, playful, and totally different from dinner-and-a-movie.
Can families with curious kids enjoy this adventure?
Yes! Kids who love stories, puzzles, or even fantasy will be into tracking escaped magical creatures, spotting historic landmarks, and learning fun science and tech history—all while walking at a gentle pace with plenty of breaks.
