Couples and families who enjoy a treasure hunt follow a sailor's mysterious map from Parc du Cinquantenaire through the European Quarter, past the Palais de Bruxelles and the cathedral, to the Grand Place, solving puzzles along the way. Visitors also see the EU district and the old centre in one daytime walk. At 4.9 km and close to three hours on foot, it is a poor fit for small children who tire quickly.

Where does the hunt start and finish, and how long does it take?
It starts at Parc du Cinquantenaire and finishes at the Grand Place, so it is not a loop. Most players take around 2 hours 45 minutes, walking and puzzles included, covering 4.9 km via the European Parliament, Parc Leopold, the Royal Gallery and other stops.
How far is the 4.9 km route in miles?
The 4.9 km route is about 3 miles, spread across 12 stops from the European Quarter to the old centre. Because you stop to hear the story of each place and solve a puzzle, the walk is broken into short stretches rather than one long hike.
Is it a good activity for kids?
It is recommended as a family activity, and the treasure-hunt story and puzzles give children something to do at every stop. Children should be able to walk close to 5 km over almost three hours. It is best played during the day.
