From the shadow of a medieval castle to the narrow, cat-filled alleys of the Old Town, you will follow a trail of riddles left by the fishermen and families who built this coast. You’ll navigate by the stars and the compass, dodging the pirate’s gaze and uncovering the "Saltoki" legacy hidden in the bustle of Tapas Street.

Friends, couples and families who enjoy escape rooms can take the idea outdoors, solving riddles on a 3.5 km loop through Benidorm's Old Town, past Cat Street, Tapas Street, the church and the castle. Over about 2.5 hours you piece together the story of the old fishing village behind the high-rises. If you mainly want beach time or a guide to ask questions, pick something else.

Is there an escape-style game you can play outdoors in Benidorm?
Yes. This is a self-guided escape game played on your phone. The app leads you through 15 stops in the Old Town and castle area, tells the story of each place and sets a riddle in what is in front of you. You start any time, with no guide.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts and ends at The Fish, so it is a loop. Along the way you pass the Triangular Square, the City Hall, Tapas Street, Cat Street, the church, the castle and Elche Park before returning to where you began.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Plan on about 2 to 2.5 hours for a walk of around 3.5 km, including time for the riddles. You can pause whenever you like, stop for tapas or a rest, and continue later from where you left off.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play as a group?
There is no slot to book, so you can start whenever suits you. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the quest, and you play together as a team.
Is it suitable for children?
Families are welcome. The puzzles are riddles based on things you can see at each stop, so it suits children old enough to read and enjoy working out clues, and who can comfortably walk 3.5 km over a couple of hours.
