Font de Canaletes is an ornate fountain topped with a decorative lamp post located at the top of La Rambla near Plaça de Catalunya. This iconic Barcelona landmark was named after 14th-century city wall water pipes called 'canaletes.' The current fountain was designed by Pere Falqués in 1888, representing the modernist style that Barcelona embraced at the turn of the century. An enchanting legend surrounds the fountain: according to tradition, if you drink from it, you'll return to Barcelona.
