It starts at the Fringe Shop and finishes at The Stand Comedy Club, so it does not return to the start. In between you pass the High Street Wellhead, the Writers' Museum, the Mound, the Assembly Rooms and the Melville Monument, crossing from the Old Town into the New Town.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, it is a family and kids' favourite. The puzzles are rated easy to medium and are solved in the streets around you, which suits school-age children. Hints are available, and you can skip a puzzle if anyone gets stuck, so younger players are not left frustrated.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play as a group?
There is no time slot to book and no group to join. The quest is free to play, so you start whenever you like on your phone, together with friends or family, and pause or continue later as it suits you.
