Join us on a walk through 1891 Diss with our hero Edward. 

Learn about life in Diss in the 19th Century, the sights, characters, and industries that have helped to create the town we love today. 

We will need to race against the clock, solving puzzles to progress to the next step.

Time is of the essence, as Edward is becoming increasingly weak due to his influenza. We need to catch up with Rose before influenza - and some bizarre remedies - catch up with us!

Highlights

  • This tour takes us from the Mere right into the heart of the Diss Heritage Triangle.

  • We will learn the secrets of the six-acre lake, meander up Mere Street, and be surprised by the goings-on as we peep beyond the modern facades into the past of Diss's historic buildings.

  • We will also pass a former police cell - bet you didn't know it was there.

Storyline

The year is 1891. Let me introduce myself - I am Edward, 31, a farmer born and raised in Diss. 

I'm in town with my wife, Rose. Both of us have chores here; I've come to talk about wheat prices and Rose, a dressmaker,  has come to find some fabric. 

I've told Rose to go ahead because I've been feeling unwell and I wanted to have a sit down. 

I feel so tired and my legs are so heavy. I could do with a nap, and so I need your assistance to help me find Rose so that we can head home.
