Couples and families with school-age children who like legends will follow a canal boatman's race to save a young woman accused of witchcraft in 1640, solving puzzles from the Columns of St. Lawrence and Sant'Eustorgio to Vicolo Lavandai along the Navigli. Allow around two and a quarter hours. Families with toddlers, or anyone who finds a witch-burning plot or 4.3 km of walking too much, should choose another walk.

Yes. This quest is set in Milan in 1640, on the night a young woman is due to be burned for witchcraft. You play a humble canal boat driver who passes messages, finds magical objects and decides which allies to trust as you walk the Navigli canals.
Is it like an escape room in the Navigli?
It plays more like an outdoor puzzle game than a locked room. The app leads you through alleys and bridges around the Navigli, tells the story of each place and sets puzzles you solve using what is in front of you. You start whenever you like, with no guide.
Where does it start and finish, and how long does it take?
It starts at the Ancient Gates of Porta Ticinese and finishes at Ponte Alexander Langer, so it does not return to the start. The route covers 4.3 km and most players take around two and a quarter hours, walking and puzzles included.
Is it good for kids?
It is tagged kid friendly and recommended for families, and the puzzles are designed to be solved together. School-age children tend to suit it best given the walking distance. The story centres on a witch trial, so it is worth a quick word with younger players beforehand.
