You've just stolen Edward Hopper's Nighthawks from the Art Institute of Chicago. Now you have to disappear into the city before anyone notices.
This self-guided walking tour of Eastside Chicago takes you through Millennium Park, past Cloud Gate, Crown Fountain, Pritzker Pavilion, and Buckingham Fountain, as you try to blend in as an ordinary tourist while making a very illegal hand-off.
As you walk through Chicago's most iconic public spaces, the art around you starts to ask a question you weren't prepared for. Perfect for art lovers, thrill-seekers, and first-time visitors, this Chicago escape game and walking tour will leave you seeing the city, and public art, differently.

Starting and ending at the Art Institute of Chicago, this loop passes Cloud Gate, Crown Fountain, the BP Pedestrian Bridge and Buckingham Fountain as you play a thief slipping away with a stolen painting. Friends, couples, escape room fans and families with older kids get around 90 minutes of puzzles. Skip it if you want to see the galleries, since you never go inside, or cannot walk 3.4 km.

The story begins just after you have stolen Edward Hopper's Nighthawks from the Art Institute of Chicago. You walk through Millennium Park and nearby landmarks trying to blend in as an ordinary tourist while setting up a hand-off, solving puzzles at each stop along the way.
Is this a scavenger hunt inside the Art Institute museum?
No. The game starts and ends outside the Art Institute of Chicago, but you do not enter the museum or any other building on the route. All the puzzles are solved outdoors, at places like Lurie Garden, the BP Pedestrian Bridge and the Chicago Stock Exchange Arch.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
You start at The Art Institute of Chicago and finish back there after a loop of about 3.4 km. Plan on around 90 minutes to an hour and a half, and you can pause the game and continue later if you want a break.
