What is the Secret Manuscript of Bucharest quest about?
It is an original urban exploration game set in central Bucharest, built around a story of conspiracies, historical secrets and clues hidden in plain sight. As you walk, you learn how decisions, alliances and silences left their mark on the city, and you solve puzzles using what is in front of you.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Foișorul de Foc and finishes at Muzeul Recordurilor Românești, so it does not end where it began. In between you pass the Greek, Croatian, Danish and Bangladesh embassies, Sanatoriu Caritatea, Casa Sângelui Negru, Casa Dimitrie Bolintineanu, Colegiul Matei Basarab and Casa Anton Pann, among other stops.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take about two hours, walking and puzzles included, over a route of 3.3 km. The puzzles are rated medium difficulty. You can pause the game whenever you like and continue later, so there is no need to finish in one go.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, it is tagged family friendly. It works best for children old enough to walk 3.3 km over about two hours and to help with medium-level puzzles. On warm days bring hats, sunscreen and enough water, and consider going in the morning to avoid the heat.
