Is this the Odyssey nightclub in Bristol?
No. This is a self-guided walking game played on your phone, not a club or sound system. It leads you through Bristol's music venues and pubs, such as the O2 Academy, Thekla and The Old Duke, telling the story of each place and setting a puzzle there.
Where does the music walk start and finish?
It starts at St Georges and finishes at The Louisianna, so it does not end where it began. In between you pass the O2 Academy, The Gryphon, Rough Trade, St Nicholas Market, The Old Duke, Thekla and Arnolfini Arts, covering about 3.1 km.
How long does it take?
Most players take a little over two hours, around 130 minutes including walking and puzzles. You can pause at any point, for example for a drink at one of the pubs on the route, and continue later from where you stopped.
Can we play at night?
It is recommended not to play at night, so plan it as a daytime walk. You can start any time you like with no booking needed. Note that parts of the route may be affected by temporary construction work.
Can we play as a group and does it cost anything?
Yes, friends or couples can play together, and the quest is free to play. There is no group to join and no guide to meet, so you simply open the app and set off from St Georges when it suits you.
