Where does the quest start and finish?
You start Under The Clocks at Flinders Street and finish at the Melbourne Museum, so it is a one-way route, not a loop. Along the way you pass Melbourne Town Hall, Chinatown, the State Library of Victoria, Sefton Apartments and the Ornamental Lake.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take 1.5 to 2 hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers about 3.3 km through the city's laneways, arcades and streets, from Flinders Street up to the Melbourne Museum.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone, so friends or couples can work through the clues and riddles side by side as you walk the route.
Can we play it in the evening?
It is best played in daylight. The quest recommends not playing at night, so plan to start early enough to finish the walk to the Melbourne Museum while it is still light.
Do we need to book a time, and can we pause?
There is no set time to book and no group or guide to meet. Start whenever you like at Under The Clocks, and if you need a break for food or a rest, pause the game and continue later.
