Yes, it is a self-guided outdoor detective game played on your phone. The app leads you through 11 stops, tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle there, while you work out who took the Golden Shamrock: Rusty the leprechaun, pub owner Finn McGuire or the mayor.
Where does it start and finish, and how long does it take?
It starts and finishes at the Fort Worth Convention Center, as a loop of about 2 km. Most players take around 90 minutes, walking and puzzles included. Along the way you pass stops such as the Panther City Fountain, the Sid Richardson Museum and the Fort Worth Sleeping Panther.
Does the route go past Bass Performance Hall?
Yes, the Bass Performance Hall is one of the stops, near the end of the route between Wells Fargo Bank and 777 Main. The app tells you the story of the place and sets a puzzle there before you head on to the JFK Tribute and back to the Convention Center.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
One ticket covers the whole group playing together. There is no set time and no group to join: start whenever suits you, with no guide. You can also pause the game and continue later if you want a break along the way.
Is it good for kids?
The story is a light mystery about lost luck, with a leprechaun suspect, stopped clocks and cooling bakery ovens. It works best for children old enough to follow clues and walk about 2 km over an hour and a half, with adults helping on the puzzles.
