Ein paar Antworten vor dem Start
Häufig gestellte Fragen
Is this a good way to learn facts about Dublin with kids?
Yes, for curious families. Each stop comes with lesser-known facts about a historic place and a puzzle to solve in what is in front of you, from a dental hospital to an old pharmacy. It suits children old enough to follow a story and enjoy puzzles over about 3 km of walking.
Does the walk include where Oscar Wilde lived?
The route stops at Oscar Wilde House and then The Oscar Wilde Memorial, in the middle of the walk after Sweny's Pharmacy. It also tells the story of Lady Wilde's mystery illness, tying the Wilde family into the walk's science and medicine theme.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Science Gallery Dublin and finishes at The Little Museum of Dublin, so it does not return to the start. In between you pass the School of Chemistry, Dublin Dental University Hospital, Sweny's Pharmacy, Oscar Wilde House, the National Museum of Ireland and The Royal Irish Academy.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Most players take around 90 minutes, including walking and puzzles, over about 3 km. There is no set start time and no guide to keep pace with, so you can pause for a coffee or a museum visit and continue later from where you stopped.
Can we play as a group, and when is the best time to go?
Yes, one ticket covers the whole group playing together. You start whenever you like, with no time slot to book. Playing at night is not recommended, and weekdays during working hours are the best choice for avoiding large crowds along the route.
