Families with school-age children and couples spending a few days around Corbu, perhaps for Piatra Șoimilor, will enjoy following the local legend of Corbița, the village's protector taken on St Andrew's night. The free walk runs from the two sister churches past the hunting observatory and Căsuța Corbiței to Stâna Haiducului. Choose something shorter if your children are small or nearly 10 km over four and a half hours is too much.

Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at the sister churches in Corbu, Biserica Pogorârea Sfântului Duh and the Catholic church, and finishes at Stâna Haiducului. It is not a loop, so plan how you will get back from the finish. Stops include Gura Plaiului, the military road, the spring on Imaș and Căsuța Corbiței.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Most players take around four and a half hours, including walking and solving the puzzles along the way. The route covers about 9.7 km, so wear good shoes, bring water and allow a full morning or afternoon for it.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, the quest is marked kid friendly, and the story of rescuing Corbița from the werewolf spirits gives children a clear goal. Because it is nearly 10 km and takes over four hours, it suits school-age children who are used to walking better than toddlers.
Can we play in the evening?
It is best played during the day and is marked as not for playing at night. The route leaves the village for the pasture and the sheepfold at Stâna Haiducului, so start early enough to finish well before dark.
Do we need to book, and can we pause?
No booking is needed. The quest is free to play, you start whenever you like on your phone and there is no guide or group to join. You can pause at any point, for a rest or a meal, and continue later from where you stopped.
