Families with school-age children and visitors who played Part 1 will enjoy following historian Olivia Campbell along Duke of Gloucester Street, solving easy puzzles at the taverns, printing office, blacksmith, milliner, wigmaker and apothecary. The walk is short, 0.8 km over about 70 minutes, ending at the Capitol. Anyone hoping for a costumed guide to answer questions, or for time inside the buildings, should look at a guided visit instead.

Is this a self-guided walking tour of Colonial Williamsburg?
Yes. It is a self-guided walking game played on your phone, with no guide and no group to join. The app leads you from stop to stop, tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle based on what is in front of you.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at the Courthouse and finishes at the Capitol Building, so it does not return to the start. Along the way you pass the Peyton Randolph House, Josiah Chowning's Tavern, the Printing Office, the blacksmith and armoury, Wetherburn's Tavern, the Milliner, Silversmith, Raleigh Tavern, Wigmaker and the Pasteur & Galt Apothecary Shop.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Most players take around 70 minutes, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers about 0.8 km. You can pause at any point and continue later, so there is no need to finish in one go.
Is it good for kids, and can we play as a family group?
It is tagged easy and family friendly, so it suits school-age children who can follow a story and help with puzzles. One ticket covers the whole group playing together, so a family can share one phone and walk the route as a team.
Do we need to book a time slot?
No. You can start whenever you like, as there is no scheduled departure and no guide to meet. Just go to the Courthouse, open the quest on your phone and begin. If you need a break, pause and pick up again later.
