Is this a murder mystery dinner or party in Portland?
No. It is an outdoor detective game played on your own phones as you walk through downtown Portland. The app leads you between real places, tells their stories and sets puzzles in what is in front of you, while you gather clues and work out who killed the travel blogger.
How is it different from an escape room?
Instead of a locked indoor room, the puzzles are set at real places around downtown Portland, such as City Hall, Lownsdale Square and the Oregon Historical Society. You walk about 2.3 km, solve clues on the spot and question suspects as the story unfolds, at your own pace.
Where does it start and finish, and how long does it take?
The route is a loop that starts and ends at Terry Schrunk Plaza, covering about 2.3 km through stops including Portlandia, Jackson Tower and the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Most players take around an hour and a half, walking and puzzles included, and you can pause and continue later.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes, one ticket covers the whole group playing together on your phones. There is no set start time and no group to join, so you can begin whenever suits you, whether for a date night, a birthday or an afternoon with friends.
