Explore Colónia.

Cologne has been drawing people to its Rhine banks for two thousand years, and Questo turns that layered history into a self-guided city game you play at your own pace. Follow clues through Roman streets and Gothic shadows, solve puzzles at medieval squares, and let the city reveal itself one step at a time.

The Dom rises so abruptly from the city centre that first-time visitors stop mid-stride. That is the Cologne effect: scale that catches you off guard. The Altstadt fans out from the cathedral's feet, with Alter Markt at its heart and the Rhine promenade cutting a wide arc along the water. The neighbourhood hums with Brauhaus culture, brew-hall noise, and the faint smell of Kölsch from every corner.

Questo's quests here lean into the city's darker character. The two original Cologne adventures explore witchcraft legends and supernatural lore embedded in the old streets, blending escape-room mechanics with local storytelling. They suit anyone who wants the Altstadt to feel like more than a backdrop.

A couple of tips worth knowing before you go: Kölsch is served in small 200ml glasses called Stange; leave your glass uncovered when you want the next round, or it stops coming. And cross the river to the Deutz bank for the only angle where the Cathedral, the Hohenzollern Bridge, and the Rhine line up in a single view. Both tips are free and most visitors only hear them after they have left.

The quests fit couples, friend groups, and families with older children who want to move through the city on their own terms.
