Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at the Library of Congress and loops back there at the end. In between you pass the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden, the US Capitol, the Washington Monument, several Smithsonian museums, the National Gallery of Art West Building, the Botanical Gardens and the US Supreme Court.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Plan on about two hours for a walk of 4.4 km. You can pause at any point, for example to step into one of the museums on the route, and continue later from where you stopped. Some checkpoints may have temporary construction work nearby.
Is it suitable for kids, and can we play at night?
The ghosts are historical figures who share stories and quiz you on U.S. history, so it works best for children old enough to enjoy history questions and walk 4.4 km. The route is open 24/7, but playing at night is not recommended. Go during daylight hours.
