Veelgestelde vragen
How does this quest in Halifax work?
You play on your phone as a self-guided walk. The app leads you from place to place, tells the story as you go and sets puzzles based on what is in front of you. Here the story is a conspiracy: you follow a whistleblower's lead to expose a secret society called The Kingmakers.
How long does it take and how far will we walk?
Plan on around 90 minutes. The route covers about 1.9 km on foot, so it suits anyone comfortable with a relaxed walk broken up by stops to read the story and solve puzzles. You can go faster or slower, since nobody is timing you.
Where does the game start?
The quest begins at the first point, marked LBC in the app. Once you open the game, it shows you where to go and guides you from that starting point through the rest of the route, so you do not need to plan the walk yourself.
Do we need to book a time, and can we pause?
No booking slot is needed. You can start any time you like, with no group or guide to meet. If you want a coffee break or need to stop for the day, pause the game and continue later from where you left off.
Is it suitable for children?
The story and puzzles are pitched at adults, and families with teenagers fit it well. Teens who like code-breaking and mystery stories tend to enjoy it most. Younger children may find the conspiracy plot and the decoding hard to follow over a 90 minute walk.
