Veelgestelde vragen
Does this ghost tour go through the dark side of the Old Town?
It is a Horror & Haunts quest through the Altstadt. The story follows Jan Wellem's mission and brings in mysterious figures such as St. Martin. We recommend playing in daylight rather than at night, so the spooky part is in the story and the riddles, not in walking dark streets.
Is this an escape game or a walking tour in Düsseldorf?
Both. You walk through the Old Town while the app tells the story of each place, from Heinrich Heine's birthplace to the Radschlägerbrunnen, and at each stop you solve a riddle using what is in front of you. It works like an outdoor escape game played on your phone.
Where does the walk start and how long does it take?
It starts and finishes at the Jan-Wellem-Reiterstandbild, so you end where you began. The route is 1.5 km and takes around 80 minutes, plus any time you spend lingering at stops. You can start whenever you like, with no booked time slot.
Can we pause if it gets cold or starts to rain?
Yes. The quest is played outdoors, but you can pause at any point and continue later. At almost every location there is somewhere nearby to step inside and warm up. No attraction tickets are needed for any stop on the route.
Can our group play together, and do we need a guide?
Yes, one ticket covers your whole group, and you play together on your phones with no guide and no fixed departure. The app leads you from stop to stop, so you can set your own pace and take breaks whenever you want.
