Where does the Christmas quest start and finish?
It starts at the Weihnachtsmarkt am Spittelberg and finishes at Rathausplatz, so it does not return to the start. The walk covers about 3.3 km through the centre of Vienna.
Which places in Vienna does the game visit?
In walking order: Weihnachtsmarkt am Spittelberg, MuseumsQuartier, Maria-Theresien-Platz, the Hofburg, the statue of Kaiser Joseph II, Leopoldsbrunnen, Michaelerplatz, Lapis Lazuli, the Theseus Temple and Rathausplatz. At each stop the app tells the story of the place and sets a puzzle.
How long does it take?
Most players take about two hours, including the walking and the puzzles. You can pause along the way, for example at a Christmas market stall, and continue later when you are ready.
Is it suitable for kids?
Yes, it is tagged family friendly and built around a Christmas rescue story with labyrinths, riddles and puzzles. It suits children old enough to enjoy riddles and walk about 3.3 km over two hours; very young children may find the distance long.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
One ticket covers the whole group playing together on a phone. There is no set time to book and no group to join: you start whenever you like from the Spittelberg Christmas market and follow the app at your own pace.
