Is this a walking tour of the Siege of Porto sites?
Yes. The route follows places linked to the Siege of Porto and the constitutional wars, where the civil war was fought and the rebellious Portuenses made their stand. It also covers the city's spirit during the dictatorship, with stops such as the old jail, Os Mártires da Liberdade and the Santo Ovídio military base.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at the Museu Militar and finishes back there, so it works as a loop. On the way you pass Praça Carlos Alberto, Fonte dos Leões, the Igreja de Santo António dos Congregados, the library and a viewpoint over the river.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
The route is about 4.4 km and takes around 1.5 to 2 hours at a relaxed pace, with a story and a puzzle at each stop. You can pause the game at any point and continue later, so a coffee break along the way is no problem.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play after dark?
There is no time slot to book; you start whenever you like. The route is open 24 hours a day, but it is better played in daylight, when the buildings, the river view and the details the puzzles rely on are easier to see.
Can our group play together without a guide?
Yes. One ticket covers your whole group, so friends or family can walk together and solve the puzzles as a team on their phones. There is no guide and no other group to join, and you move at your own pace.
