No, it is self-guided and played on your phone. The app leads you from place to place, tells the story of each stop and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. The route includes the Lady Godiva statue and the Godiva Clock, and you can start any time without booking.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at the Coventry Boy and finishes at Methodist Central Hall, so it does not return to the start. In between you pass Coventry Cathedral, the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, St Mary's Guildhall, Coventry Cross, the Lady Godiva statue, the Godiva Clock, the Council House area and a police station mural.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Most players take about 90 minutes, walking and puzzles included, over a distance of 1.6 km. There is no fixed schedule, so you can pause the quest whenever you like and continue later from where you stopped.
Is it suitable for children?
The puzzles are rated medium difficulty and the story looks at Coventry's history through political protest with some surreal humour. It suits older children, roughly 10 and up, playing alongside an adult, more than very young children.
