Families and groups of friends visiting Bregenz can follow a late grandfather's musical riddle from Leutbühel through the old town and along the lake to the Festspielhaus, solving puzzles at 15 stops. Bregenz Festival visitors will enjoy the music theme woven into the story. Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Leutbühel and finishes at the Festspielhaus, so it does not return to the start. On the way you pass the slimmest house in Europe, the Old City Gate, Martinstower, the Kunsthaus, the Roman Monument, the Molo and the Fischersteg. The route covers about 2.5 km.
How long does it take to play?
Most players take about two hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. You do not have to finish in one go: you can pause the game whenever you like and continue later from where you stopped.
Is it free, and can we play as a group?
Yes, it is free to play. The story is designed for families or friends to explore and solve the puzzles together. No attraction tickets are needed for any of the stops along the route.
Do we need to book a time?
No booking is needed. There is no guide and no group to join, so you start whenever you are ready. The route is open 24 hours a day, though it is better played in daylight.
What if it is cold or the weather turns?
The quest is an outdoor walk through the streets and along the lakefront. If it gets cold, you can pause and go inside to warm up at almost any location on the route, then carry on when you are ready.
