Families with children who can manage 4.2 km, couples and holiday guests around Zeewolde follow Klaas, an old Zuiderzee fisherman, across land that was once seabed. Over about two hours you pass wavy homes, a pier, a sandy beach and the dike, solving puzzles about the lost sea. How long does the Zuiderzee walk in Zeewolde take?
Plan on about two hours to cover the 4.2 km route and its 13 stops, from the wavy homes to the pier, beach and dike. There is no rush. You can pause the game at any point and continue later, so a coffee break or a stop on the beach fits in easily.
Is this walk good for kids?
Yes, it is marked family friendly. Children follow the story of Klaas the fisherman and help solve puzzles about the old Zuiderzee at each stop. It suits children who can comfortably walk around 4 km in about two hours, with breaks if needed.
Do we need to book a time slot or buy entry tickets?
No time slot is needed. You start whenever you like, and the route is open 24/7, though daylight hours are better for seeing the places and solving the puzzles. No attraction tickets are required along the way. The walk starts and ends at the same point, Meet Klaas.
Can we play as a group?
Yes. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated when you buy. There is no guide and no other group to join, so friends, couples and families can walk together at their own pace and share the puzzles.
What should we bring, and is it outdoors?
The whole route is outdoors, by the water, the sandy beach and the dike. Bring a hat, sunscreen and enough water, and make sure your phone is fully charged or carry a power bank, as the game runs on your phone for around two hours.
