Zagreb essentials: easy itinerary

Long before Christianity became the dominant religion in this part of Europe, the Slavic people understood the world through many gods and supernatural beings connected with nature, weather, fertility, life and death. Christianity did not change this world overnight. Old beliefs slowly disappeared, changed meaning or survived in new forms.

This is the story of that transformation — seen through the eyes of Mogut, an ancient supernatural guardian of storms, wind and hail.

After a very long sleep, Mogut wakes in a Zagreb he barely recognises. The world he remembers is gone, and the beings who once shared it with him are nowhere to be found. So he begins searching for old friends, familiar voices and answers to what happened while he slept.

But this is more than a search for a lost supernatural world. It is a story about nostalgia and belonging, courage and persistence, and finding purpose when everything around you has changed.

Above all, it is a story about remaining faithful to who you are and what you believe is right — even when nobody is watching, nobody remembers, and there is no reward for doing so.
