This Georgetown loop starts and ends at the C&O Canal on 30th St NW, passing Christ Church and the Old Stone House, with puzzles drawn from Baum's 1900 Oz novel. Friends, families with kids or teens, couples and Oz fans get about 90 minutes of outdoor escape-room puzzles, started any time. Anyone after a staffed indoor room, or unable to walk 2 km, should choose another outing.

Where does the Oz game in Washington DC take place?
It is set in Georgetown. You start at the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Historical Park on 30th St NW, follow clues past Fishmarket Square, Wisconsin Ave, Georgetown Baptist Church, Christ Church and the Old Stone House, and finish back where you began.
Is the Oz escape a scheduled event, or can we start any time?
There is no set date or booking slot. You start whenever suits your group, play on your phone at your own pace, and can pause and continue later if you want to stop for a coffee or a meal along the way.
What is the Oz experience about?
It is an outdoor escape-room-style game with a new story inspired by L. Frank Baum's original 1900 Oz novel. You join a team of misfits and try to outsmart the witch by cracking puzzles at each location, with original Oz-themed songs in the app that you can also play at home.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Plan on around 90 minutes, covering about 2 km on foot through Georgetown. The route is outdoors and loops back to the starting point at the canal on 30th St NW, so you finish close to where you began.
Can we play as a group, or does everyone need a ticket?
One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated, so friends, families or work groups can solve the puzzles together. If you prefer, you can also play solo and compare your result on the leaderboard.
