La experiencia

Sobre esta experiencia

In a forgotten village, on the edge of a dark forest, a legend is about to be born…

When a ruthless horde invades, led by a fearsome warrior with the head of a dog… With courage and cunning, they’ll fight back… not with swords… but with the strength of their hearts and the wisdom of the past.

Witness the battle where legends are forged… and a village’s legacy is sealed in blood and brine.

¿Es para ti?

Para quién es

Families with children of about 7 to 12 play through a folk legend of villagers outwitting a dog-headed horde, solving puzzles at twelve stops between the Chain Church and Muzeul Județean. Visitors who grew up with the căpcăuni tale will recognise it. Anyone wanting history explained by a live guide, or children too young to walk 3.4 km over about two hours, should choose something else.

Aspectos destacados

  • Located just 20-minutes from Romania -- Hungary border, Satu Mare is a natural gateway to the unique rural areas in northwestern Romania.

  • The town stretches north of river Somes. Archaeological evidence shows settlements in the area dating to the Stone Age and the Bronze Age.

  • There is also proof that the Geto-Dacian communities in this region continued to be free, even after the Roman conquest.

Preguntas frecuentes

Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at Satu Mare Chain Church and finishes at Muzeul Județean, so it does not return to the start. Along the way you pass twelve stops, including Turnul Pompierilor, the Synagogue, Biserica Calvaria and the Roman Catholic Cathedral.
How long does it take?
Most players take about two hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers 3.4 km through the centre of Satu Mare. You can pause along the way and pick it up again later.
Is it good for kids?
Yes, it is tagged family friendly and suits children of about 7 to 12 best. The story is a folk legend about a village standing up to dog-headed raiders, with puzzles set in the places in front of you. Younger children may tire over 3.4 km.
Do we need to book a time or pay?
No booking is needed and it is free to play. Start whenever you like on your phone, with no group to join and no guide to meet. Families and friends can play together.
Is it a history tour?
Not really. It is a legend game built on the folk tale of the căpcăuni, the dog-headed raiders, rather than a guided history tour. The route does pass real landmarks such as the Synagogue, the Art Museum and Muzeul Județean.
