The Wells Fargo Museum is one of the stops on the route, alongside Giannini Plaza and The City Club of San Francisco in the Financial District. The quest itself is a walk with a story and a puzzle at each place, so it suits people who want something more active than a museum visit.
Where does the Gold Rush walk start and finish?
It starts and ends at The Embarcadero and Ferry Building, so you finish where you began. In between, the 2.8 km loop passes Union Square, the French Quarter, St Mary's Square in Chinatown and the Financial District, returning via the Market St and Drumm St cable car stop.
How long does it take, and do we need to book a time?
Plan on about 50 minutes of walking and puzzle solving. There is no set start time and no guide to meet, so you begin whenever suits you. You can also pause partway through and continue later if you stop for food or a break.
Is it good for kids?
