Starting and finishing at Welcome Park, this 2 km loop passes Carpenters' Hall, the Merchant Exchange Building and Washington Square as you crack puzzles drawn from Baum's 1900 Oz novel. Friends, couples, families and Oz fans who prefer an outdoor escape game to a booked room will enjoy its 90 minutes or so. If you want a live guide answering questions about the historic buildings, choose a guided tour.

Yes. This is an outdoor escape-room-style game with a new story inspired by L. Frank Baum's 1900 Oz novel. You play on your phone, follow clues to each location and solve puzzles to outsmart the witch, with original Oz-themed songs along the way. It starts at 1 Welcome Park.
Is this something we can do in Philly this weekend without booking a time?
Yes. There is no set time slot and no group to join, so you can start whenever suits you on any day. Allow around 90 minutes for the 2 km route, and you can pause and continue later if you want a break.
Where does it start and which places does it pass?
It begins at 1 Welcome Park and covers about 2 km, with stops including the Merchant Exchange Building, Carpenters' Hall, the Robert Morris Statue, Benjamin Rush Garden, the Museum of the American Revolution, the United States Custom House and Washington Square, before finishing back at Welcome Park.
Can we play as a group, or can I play solo?
Both work. Friends can crack the puzzles together as a team, and one ticket covers your whole group up to the stated number of devices. Solo players can take on the witch's challenges alone and see how they compare on the leaderboard.
Is it all outdoors, and what if it rains?
The whole game is played outdoors, walking between real locations, so dress for the weather. Because there is no booked time, you can choose a dry day, or pause partway through and pick up where you left off later.
