In about an hour you walk 2.6 km from Richmond Hill's viewpoint through Terrace Gardens to the riverside and Richmond Palace, solving puzzles as you go. It is an outdoor escape game played on your phone across Richmond town and riverside. Instead of a locked room, you solve puzzles in the streets, gardens and along the river, following John Lewis, a local publican in 1755, through the stops on the route.
Where does the game start and how long does it take?
It starts and finishes at Richmond Theatre, so you end where you began. The route is 2.6 km and takes about an hour, a little longer if you linger at the Richmond Hill viewing point, the riverside or The Prince's Head pub along the way.
Do we need to book a time, and can we play after dark?
There is no time slot to book. You start whenever you like, and you can pause and carry on later. The route is open 24/7, but it is better in daylight, especially for the views from Richmond Hill and the walk through the gardens and riverside.
Can our group play together on one ticket?
Yes, one ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the game. There is no guide and no other group joining you, so you work through the puzzles together at your own pace.
