Playing the part of a young Roman from Londinium, you will take a walk around your home city one final time, before leaving to fight for the Roman Army in Gaul. 

The sun is setting on this once great empire and the Roman capital of Britannia is in decline. You will discover some of London's hidden Roman sites and find out all about the origins of this city.

History fans and families with school-age children who want to find Londinium's remains themselves, from the Roman wall by Trajan's statue to the amphitheatre and the Mithraeum. You play a young Roman taking a last walk through a city in decline, solving easy puzzles as you go. Pick something else if you want a live guide to quiz on the archaeology, or if 4.2 km and a little over two hours on foot is too much.

Yes. This quest is free to play on your phone and leads you through 13 stops in the City of London, telling the story of Roman Londinium at each one. You start whenever you like, with no group to join and no guide, and the app sets a puzzle at every place.
Which Roman sites in the City of London does the walk visit?
In order, the route takes in the Roman wall by the Emperor Trajan statue, the City Wall at Vine Street, Leadenhall Market, the Bank of England, the London Amphitheatre, the Roman fort ruins, Watling Street, the Walbrook River, the London Mithraeum and finally the London Stone.
Where does it start and finish, and how long does it take?
You start at the Church of Saint Magnus-the-Martyr and finish at the London Stone, so it is not a loop. The route covers about 4.2 km, and most players take a little over two hours, around 2 to 2.5 hours with walking and puzzles included.
Is it suitable for children?
It is tagged family friendly and rated easy, so school-age children who enjoy a story and simple puzzles should manage well. Everyone plays a young Roman leaving Londinium to join the army in Gaul. Bear in mind the walk is 4.2 km, which may tire very young children.
