Starting and ending in Park Zvezda, this 3 km loop crosses Cobbler's Bridge, passes the Green Market and Dragon Bridge, and follows Jarilo through Slavic myth in about an hour. Couples, first-time visitors and families with older children who like easy to medium puzzles enjoy it most. If you want a live guide answering history questions rather than a myth told through puzzles on your phone, choose another tour.

Is there a self-guided walking tour of Ljubljana?
Yes. This one runs on your phone: the app leads you from stop to stop, tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no guide and no fixed group, so you start whenever you like and walk at your own pace.
Which route does it take through Ljubljana's old town?
The walk covers about 3 km and 11 stops, including Cobbler's Bridge, the Vodnik Monument, Saint Nicholas' Cathedral, the Town Hall and Robba's Fountain, the Green Market, the Dragon Bridge, Prešeren Square and the Triple Bridge, and Congress Square, using quieter paths where possible.
Where does it start and how long does it take?
It starts and finishes at Park Zvezda, so you end up back where you began. Plan on about an hour of walking and puzzle solving over roughly 3 km. The route is open at any hour, but it is better walked in daylight.
Is it suitable for children?
It is family friendly, with puzzles rated easy to medium and a story drawn from Slavic mythology. It works best for older children who can follow a story and enjoy working out clues, and who can manage a 3 km walk of about an hour.
