What will we see in Chania on this walk?
The route covers the historical centre and the Venetian harbour: Agios Nikolaos in Splantzia, the Lighthouse, the Neoria, the Yali Mosque, the Synagogue, Theotokopoulou, the Hand Monument, Firkas Fortress, Angelou, Sintrivani, the Cathedral and the Market, with stories of wars, accidents and unconventional artists.
Is there an app for exploring Chania old town on your own?
Yes. This is a self-guided city game played on your phone. The app leads you from place to place, tells the story of each spot and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you. There is no guide and no group to join.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It is a loop route of about 3.2 km. You start at Agios Nikolaos in Splantzia and finish at the Market, passing through the harbour area, Firkas Fortress and the Cathedral along the way.
How long does it take?
Most players take close to three hours, including walking and solving the puzzles. You can start whenever you like, and if you need a break for a coffee or lunch, you can pause the game and continue later.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
One ticket covers the whole group playing together on the route. There is no set start time to book, so you can begin whenever suits you and go at your own pace through the old town.
