Preguntas frecuentes

Is this an Olympic-themed escape game?

It works like an outdoor escape game on your phone. The app leads you through Chamonix, tells the story of each place and sets a puzzle in what is in front of you, with the mountains and the Olympic spirit as the theme. Puzzles are rated medium difficulty.

Is there a free walking tour of Chamonix?

This quest is free to play. It is self-guided, so there is no guide and no group to join. You start whenever you like, follow the app for about 3.9 km through town and can pause and continue later.

Where does the walk start and finish?

It starts at the Chamonix Mont Blanc Tourist Office and finishes at the Téléphérique Aiguille du Midi, so it does not end where it began. On the way you pass the Église Saint-Michel, the Statue Paccard, the ice rink, the railway station and Maison UTMB.

How long does it take and is it good for kids?

Most players take about two hours, walking and puzzles included, over 3.9 km. It is tagged as a family and kids' favourite with medium-difficulty puzzles, so it suits school-age children best, ideally with an adult helping on the trickier questions.

Do we need to book a time, and can we stop partway?

No booking is needed. You can start at any time of day that suits you, and the app lets you pause the quest, for a café break or a change in the weather, and continue later from where you stopped.
