Where does the Manzoni walking tour in Milan start and finish?
It starts at the Chiesa di San Carlo al Lazzaretto and ends back there. In between, the route takes you to Piazza Cesare Beccaria, the Duomo, Piazza dei Mercanti, Piazza San Fedele, Teatro Manzoni, the Casa museo del Manzoni and the bastions of Porta Venezia by Piazza Oberdan.
How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Plan on around 75 minutes and about 3.7 km on foot, covering eleven stops on a loop. You can pause at any point, for a coffee or a longer look at a place, and continue later from where you stopped.
Do we need to book a time slot?
No. There is no group departure and no guide to meet, so you start whenever you like on your phone. For a calmer walk, the quest suggests playing on weekdays during working hours, when the busiest spots such as the Duomo area are less crowded.
Can we play as a group on one ticket?
Yes. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated, so friends or a class of readers can follow Renzo's route together and work through the puzzles at each stop side by side.
Is the route outdoors, and what if it rains?
The quest leads you through Milan's streets, squares and bastions, so most of the time is spent outside. If the weather turns, you can pause the game, take shelter and pick it up again later without losing your progress.
