Your mission: learn magic spells, fight dark creatures, gather relics of power, and brew the potion that will banish the darkness. With each step and every riddle solved, the city loosens the grip of its curse.
This is not just a walk. It is an escape game woven into the stones of the old town. Every clue you crack draws you closer to the last stand at Grossenmünster church, where the fate of the city will be decided.

Families and couples who like fantasy stories can spend a little over an hour learning spells, gathering relics and brewing a potion to lift a curse on Zürich's old town, walking from Lindenhof past St. Peter's and the Fraumünster to the Grossmünster. The riddles are rated easy, so school-age children can join in. If you want a guide telling real local ghost stories in person, choose another tour.

Is this a ghost tour of Zürich?
Not in the usual sense. There is no guide; you play it on your phone. The story is a fantasy: the city is under a spell, and you learn magic spells, fight dark creatures, gather relics and brew a potion to banish the darkness. It is rated easy and family friendly.
Where does the quest start and finish?
It starts at the Hedwig Fountain on Lindenhof and finishes at the Grossmünster Church, so it does not return to the start. Along the way you pass St. Peter's Church, the Fraumünster, Münsterhof Square, Bauschänzli Island and the Wasserkirche, ten stops in all.
How long does it take and how far do we walk?
Most players take around 70 minutes, a little over an hour, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers about 2.2 km through the old town. You can pause at any point and continue later, so there is time for a coffee break.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes. It is tagged family friendly and the difficulty is rated easy, so school-age children can help crack the riddles and follow the story of spells, creatures and relics. The walk of about 2.2 km suits children who are comfortable on their feet for an hour or so.
Can we play as a group, and do we need to book a time?
One ticket covers the whole group playing together on the route. There is no set departure time and no group to join, so you can start whenever suits you and go at your own pace through the streets.
