It runs from Stephansdom past secret courtyards, a ghost story, the Secession, imperial gardens, the Burgtheater and the Rathaus, with a quiz at every stop and breaks for a Würstelstand, coffee and rooftop cocktails. Anyone after a short stroll, a live guide or an indoor afternoon should pick something else, as this is nearly three hours outdoors.

How long does the walk take and how far is it?
Plan on around three hours to cover about 5.6 km, including time for the quiz challenges at each stop. You can pause whenever you like, for a sausage or a coffee along the route, and pick up again later. Charge your phone fully or bring a power bank.

It is tagged as family friendly, and each stop has a quiz challenge that families can solve together. Children need to be comfortable walking about 5.6 km over roughly three hours. Note that one stop tells a ghost story and the grand finale is a rooftop cocktail bar.
